So. I just got this comment.

You are right, but it does mean that you understand it. I cannot write a story about dehumanizing, sexual slavery and interrelationship violence any more than I could write a story about life in Baghdad -- I know nothing of either.

A D/s story is one thing. But judging by your realism, you have serious and vivid fantasies about sadistic abuse and degradation (either on the giving or the receiving end). A fantasy is just a fantasy, of course, but the Marquis de Sade had a problem, and so do you.

Really? Who goes through the comments on a story, to add to a thread that is 4 months old.

Ummm. what?

this folks, is how you get people to stop writing.

I haven't responded, because honestly? I am not sure what to say.

It is very upsetting...I'm a mess when I get comments like this. But you just have to think about all the people who love this story, and that it's a FANTASY. None of this is real...you can write what you like, doesn't mean you think it's right...

That's the thing! I know this persons opinion doesn't matter even slightly. but it's still upsetting.

(also so much fiction is just that - fiction! sci fi, and fantasy. Things the writer has no way of experiencing but still writes about. Even crime fiction. I would think that most crime fiction writers are not actually delusional serial killers. Their comments don't make sense.)
