So. I just got this comment.

You are right, but it does mean that you understand it. I cannot write a story about dehumanizing, sexual slavery and interrelationship violence any more than I could write a story about life in Baghdad -- I know nothing of either.

A D/s story is one thing. But judging by your realism, you have serious and vivid fantasies about sadistic abuse and degradation (either on the giving or the receiving end). A fantasy is just a fantasy, of course, but the Marquis de Sade had a problem, and so do you.

Really? Who goes through the comments on a story, to add to a thread that is 4 months old.

Ummm. what?

this folks, is how you get people to stop writing.

I haven't responded, because honestly? I am not sure what to say.

Honestly, hon, they're an asshole. Don't pay any attention - everyone gets a comment like this at some point. Don't let them ruin the fun you get from writing; they have no idea what they're talking about. *Hugs*

This one doesn't even dare to log in, I think it's totally personal.

The only person that has a problem is them, coz seriously, if they read warnings that they don't like and then read the fic anyway, they are seriously fucked up.
You write what you want, Hunny and if other people don't stick to the very fundamental rule of "if you don't like it, don't read it" then it's their look out.

I think the comment is personal but it's about them and their issues, not yours.
Please don't let this asshole ruin your day, Hunny xx

I clicked on to the link and it made me so angry that you got such a negative comment when you had clearly used all the appropriate tags. This shithead obviously can't separate reality from fiction - no doubt they believe Mary Shelley created a monster, Bram Stoker met the 'real' Dracula and Patricia Cornwall is a serial killer! I know how upsetting such comments can be - it happened to me once and although I tried to be rational it made me feel physically sick.

Please don't let it put you off writing - I haven't read "A Traditional Family" but now I've seen the tags and the summary I can't wait to read it!

I can't really add much to what everyone else has said. They're all right. The problem here is not yours, it's the cowardly anon's. I know it's a horrible feeling to open your inbox and read a nasty or downright idiotic comment, but try not to waste any time or energy thinking about it. You certainly haven't done anything wrong; your tags could not be any clearer. It seems like some troll is just looking for an argument.

If I only wrote about things I had personally experienced my fics wouldn't consist of much more than stories about family life and working in retail. Not exactly stimulating. Thank god some of us possess an imagination!

Please don't let this discourage you from writing. I love your stories, especially this one :)

x *hugs* x

Not anything to add but my support. The fact that this person said these hurtful things under the cloak of anon tells us that it is personal or they are just cowardly. Or both.
