In other news. I have a destiel exchange fic to write to day, and except for a few gifts/timestamps I owe people, I think that's me for destiel. I am just sick of writing for ships I can't seem to break into the readership, so maybe from this point on I'll stick to rare pairs... you still get no comments, but at least there are less readers to explain it away.

Aw honey. I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. And I know I'm guilty of not commenting like I should. I get where your frustration is coming from and I understand completely. Though I think our destiel stuff is good I think you need to write what makes you happy to write. There's no point in burning yourself out and t sounds like that's what you're in danger of.

Well you can feel rested and still have burn out I think. Especially if you're trying force yourself to write.

Hugz. I hope you get the comments you're looking for. And I'm sorry you're having a hard time. But do what you LOVE to do when it comes to writing.

Now, I may not be a fan of Destiel, but I do find each story that I have read amazing!!! And I'm glad that you LOVE the pair and find it very enjoyable. Write what you like to write about, write the pair the way you envision it.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear you're having a crap time of it. :( But there's no point pushing yourself to write something when it's not fun any more, and feeling like you're shouting into the void is no fun. The last couple of Dean/Cas fics I've posted didn't get much response, either -- it feels like people just aren't commenting as much these days overall. Which is a shame.

Rarepairs are good, though! IDK why, but there's something a bit freeing about writing them.

I feel like destiel is a clique (or series of cliques) I can't break into. And I follow mainly destiel writers, who all appear to read each others work, and support each others writing, and I think I just reached my point of this isn't fun.

which isn't a bad thing, it's just an is thing.

(aaaand I think I'm PMSing. That would explain a lot, actually. Dang.)

I can only say that I've written in some cliquey as fuck fandoms where you may as well just expect to be ignored, and I've written in some very small and inactive fandoms that don't get much in the way of comments just in general, and for both of these my general principal has always been that I write what I want to write because doing it makes me happy. If it pleases other people too that's a lovely bonus, but if it's not pleasing to me then that's more of a problem.

It's also why I avoid comparing my stats/views/comments/kudos to anyone else's because it invariably dredges up "But why is THAT getting so much attention when THIS is clearly better?" because really that way lies madness.

Which is the long-winded way of saying if you want to write rare-pairs because you like them and enjoy them, then do so. But likewise if you enjoy writing a pairing don't let a lack of feedback stop you. Life's too short to let other people's apathy dictate how you spend your leisure time.

I tend not to expect people to reply to/read/look at my posts whether that's fic or art or just random shit falling out of my head, that way when they do I'm surprised and pleased *hugs* ♥♥♥
